The New England Hereford Association seeks to promote pure-bred Hereford cattle that are phenotypically and genotypically positioned to thrive on farms in the Northeast. Our association is comprised of large and small farms that collectively seek to continually improve the quality of their Hereford cattle. The New England Hereford Association has a very active junior association which attends the National Junior Hereford Show each year. New junior members are most welcome. We are also host to the New England Pollettes, a national womens organization active in the hereford breed. I would like to extend  an open invitation to any prospective new member to visit our website and complete the membership application included, your involvement would be most welcome. Please continue to visit our website as we will be actively updating and expanding in the future.

Spring – Believe it or not, is on its way!  And if you are feeling like me and probably just about everyone else in New England, it can’t come fast enough. This has been a winter for the books and I would have preferred they left out this chapter.  But with calves starting to hit the ground, it’s necessary to keep focused and on track with herd management, however difficult this additional snowfall has made things.

All of you who planned for March/April calves instead of January/February calves must have had some divine insight!  Our spring calves will be here in March.  Spring will be here before we know it, we’ll be working towards getting ready for the Annual New England Hereford Sale and Big East Show in May, and this winter will be just a memory, something we can tell our kids and grandkids about.

I hope that as you read this, you and your loved ones are warm and safe, and thankful for all the blessings around you.
